Carole Haswell DipPFS

Financial Adviser

Meet Carole

It’s all about the language for Carole. A chance swerve in her twenties from a degree in French and German to a career in the City fostered a deep frustration with investment jargon and the finance industry’s apparent male bias. After a clean break to bring up two daughters and a dog she now aims to make the concepts of investing more accessible and – in particular – to get more women thinking about how they provide for their futures. She is also taking a growing interest in sustainable investing where the use of everyday language is just as important as it is for those getting to grips with the basics. Words matter!

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Turning ‘finance-speak’ into something relatable and understandable. Getting women more engaged in investing (eg through talking about sustainable investing). Opening younger women’s eyes to the earnings and pensions gender gaps and how the magic of compound interest can help.

Importantly

In an age where financial scams pose a real threat, it’s important to make sure you do not take financial advice from any firm not registered with the FCA, or from any adviser who does not hold a valid Statement of Professional Standing.
